About the Staff
Director- Lori Durako
My passion for women's issues began as a Sociology major, focusing on inequalities between race, class and gender. After graduating, I spent some time discovering who I was as a woman in this world through service work, team building facilitation, and teaching outdoor education. As my interest in going back to my roots of working with women's rights increased, I attained my Masters at the University of St. Thomas, focusing on leadership, social justice education, and the importance of every person's story. My hope is for the great history of the Eileen B. Lieben Center for Women to be a place for women and men on campus to share their voices and learn from others, to explore ways and methods of creating a community that supports all women, and to celebrate what it means to be a phenomenal woman.
Design & Marketing Intern - Daniela
My name is Daniela Morales and I am a junior majoring in Marketing and Finance, and doing a French minor. I fell in love with the Lieben Center ever since I participated in the Wareham Program in the fall of my sophomore year! It was a great opportunity for me to grow as a leader, but most importantly, as a woman leader in a world dominated by male leaders. I’ve had the opportunity and blessing of working with the Lieben Center as the marketing and Design Intern since last fall. As the marketing and design intern I can get to mix two of my passions: my passion for women’s empowerment issues, and for design, marketing and creativity, which is what I want to do for a living. I’m really excited for all the amazing things we’ll get to do this year.

Office Coordinator - Meghan
My name is Meghan Powers and I am a sophomore currently studying elementary school education and psychology at Creighton. This year I have had the opportunity to work for the Lieben Center as the office coordinator. Although this was a random assingment at first as a work study, I have grown to love everything this center stands for and all of the projects I have had a chance to contribute to. Creighton is an amazing school in that it supports individuals and organizations in all their indeavors. Because of this, I am looking forward to conintuing to be a part of the Lieben Center and see everything we can accomplish in the future.

Programming Intern - Gillian
My name is Gillian Fitzpatrick and I am a junior majoring in psychology and economics here at Creighton. Over my three years here, I have developed a passion for advancing the education and awarenesss of our campus community on the status of women in society. As the programming intern, I'm interested in bringing outside resources to campus to enrich the educational process. Through it may not be as apparent as other schools, Creighton has a very diverse student population that has become my favorite part of being a student here.

Student Coordinator - Elizabeth
My name is Elizabeth boos and I'm a senior Biology major from Topeka, Kansas. After being a member of the Lieben Center Advisory Board for the past year and a half, I have taken on the position of Student Coordinator. I have recently found a passion for women's issues through my involvement with the Lieben Center and as a volunteer with the Women's Center for Advancement's Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Hotline. My favorite thing about Creighton is the friendliness and approachability of the faculty and staff.

Women's History Month Intern - Shayla
My name is Shayla Covington and I am so excited to be working in the Lieben Center as the WHM Intern! A little about me: I am a junior Theology major from Denver, Colorado. My interest in women's rights stem from a background in gender studies and other human rights organizations on campus. I join the Lieben Center staff this semester as the WHM intern because I want to recognize Creighton women on a campus-wide level.
