About the Staff

Hello!  My name is Michaela Tallman and I'm excited about the work we are doing at the Lieben Center.  A lot of messages directed at women tell them who they should be, what they should do and what they should look like.  I am passionate about empowering women to explore who they are and to be honest first with themselves, then with others.  I have three years of professional experience working directly with young women and enjoy watching them challenge and encourage each other as they grow.  It is also important that young women have opportunities to explore and be prepared for the world and the messages it will present them as they start their careers and families after college.

My name is Gillian Fitzpatrick and I am a junior majoring in psychology and economics here at Creighton. Over my three years here, I have developed a passion for advancing the education and awarenesss of our campus community on the status of women in society. As the programming intern, I'm interested in bringing outside resources to campus to enrich the educational process. Through it may not be as apparent as other schools, Creighton has a very diverse student population that has become my favorite part of being a student here.

My name is Elizabeth boos and I'm a senior Biology major from Topeka, Kansas. After being a member of the Lieben Center Advisory Board for the past year and a half, I have taken on the position of Student Coordinator. I have recently found a passion for women's issues through my involvement with the Lieben Center and as a volunteer with the Women's Center for Advancement's Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Hotline. My favorite thing about Creighton is the friendliness and approachability of the faculty and staff.

My name is Shayla Covington and I am so excited to be working in the Lieben Center as the WHM Intern! A little about me: I am a junior Theology major from Denver, Colorado. My interest in women's rights stem from a background in gender studies and other human rights organizations on campus. I join the Lieben Center staff this semester as the WHM intern because I want to recognize Creighton women on a campus-wide level.
