About Jennifer Kennedy Croft
It is with great pleasure that I begin my seventh year at Creighton University! I believe in Creighton's vision and mission and know that my passions for justice, community, and spirituality are fed and nurtured here.
I grew up in Mason City, Iowa and my grandparents and parents grew up in Omaha Nebraska. In fact my great, great grandfather was the first superintendent of schools and the Howard Kennedy School is named after him. (A little Kennedy trivia). My parents went to Omaha Central and the University of Iowa.
My career in higher education has been rewarding and challenging. For over 15 years I coached collegiate women's soccer. At Seattle University I became involved in the campus ministry department and was introduced to St. Ignatius and the Spiritual Exercises. Following my experience as a head coach at Seattle University, I took a sabbatical and joined the Jesuit Volunteers International Program in Belize City, Belize.
I returned to the States working as an assistant and then head coach at Utah State University where I met and married my husband, Stan Croft. I was the Newman Center Campus Minister at USU for three years. Stan and I have two beautiful children, Sarah and Thomas, and we live in Council Bluffs. Go Hawkeyes!
