About Kathy Martin
It is with great enthusiasm that I begin as the Coordinator of Marriage Preparation at Creighton. I come to this position with gratitude and respect for the Creighton community and for those I will be working with.
I was born and raised in Omaha and graduated from Marian High School. I received a business degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, but I found my true calling in life when I started working in ministry to families and youth in Omaha. During that time I pursued and obtained my Master’s Degree in Theology from Creighton. I returned to Creighton as a student in order to gain my teaching certificate in 2008. I have spent the last several years working part-time teaching religion to junior high students and being a youth minister at St Pius X parish.
I gain true joy in life by developing my vocation as wife and mother. I have been married for over 15 years to John Martin and we have three elementary age boys who keep us plenty busy.
Just to add some excitement to my life I have spent the last 12 years teaching thousands of junior high and high school age youth about healthy relationships and sexuality. I wrote and teach a program called “Sexuality: The Power of the Gift”. I have trained five others to teach this program in the Archdiocese of Omaha.
It is an honor to be a part of the Campus Ministry staff at Creighton and I look forward to helping people of all ages achieve happiness and healthiness in their relationships.
