I grew up in Third Lake, IL (north of Chicago) with my parents, brother, and sister. My parents are Notre Dame alums, and my mom is a Creighton alumna as well! I love singing, playing the piano / organ, conducting, and attempting to play the mountain dulcimer. I'm also a fan of sci-fi and fantasty stories, folk music of all kinds, pilgrimages, and puns.
Music ministry is, quite simply, "what I do." It has always been a part of my life, from grade school on up. I sang in the choir at St. Gilbert School and accompanied the liturgical ensemble at Carmel Catholic High School. I studied Music Education and Music Theory at Ithaca College, where I was also co-director of the Catholic Community's music ministry. I graduated with a Masters in Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame (go Irish!), where I was involved with the Folk Choir and Notre Dame Vision retreat program. Most recently, I spent two years in Wexford, Ireland as a member and House Director of the House of Brigid, a lay volunteer community dedicated to the renewal of the Church in Ireland through catechesis and music. I love my Wexford community, and treasure the time I spent there! I am looking forward to knowing a wonderful new community in my first year at Creighton and St. John's!
