I grew up north of Chicago with my parents and two siblings. I love singing, playing the piano / organ, conducting, and attempting to play the mountain dulcimer. I'm also a fan of sci-fi and fantasy stories, folk music of all kinds, pilgrimages, and puns.
Music ministry is, quite simply, "what I do." It has always been a part of my life. My mom (CU '78) and dad led one of the ensembles at my home parish while I was growing up, and I was therefore an honorary member. I also sang in the choir at St. Gilbert School and accompanied the liturgical ensemble at Carmel Catholic High School. I studied Music Education and Music Theory at Ithaca College, where I was also co-director of the Catholic Community's music ministry and occasionally helped out at Cornell University?s chapel. I graduated with a Masters in Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame (go Irish!), where I was involved in leadership with the Folk Choir, Notre Dame Vision retreat program, and dorm Masses. I spent two years in Wexford, Ireland with Teach Bhríde (House of Brigid), a lay volunteer community dedicated to the renewal of the Catholic Church in Ireland through catechesis and music. I am looking forward to starting my third year in the wonderful community of Creighton and St. John's Parish this fall!<xml></xml>
