Osteoporosis affects 1.5 million women and 375,000 men in the United States annually. The Osteoporosis Research Center at Creighton University School of Medicine has been dedicated to bone health research for over 40 years. In that time, the center has helped set calcium and vitamin D intake guidelines along with discovering changes in bone health following menopause in women.
These are just a few examples of how the ORC has impacted and changed the treatment and prevention of Osteoporosis.
A pathway for many years of research in the field of osteoporosis lies ahead. Fulfillment of a promise to cure osteoporosis and prevent the devastating effects of fracture in the elderly requires that donations be made to the centerís endowment to support the early work of new leadership.
You can help the ORC realize this goal by participating in the Move It or Lose It 5k Run and 1-Mile Walk, or simply by making a donation.
