Dr. Amani graduated the Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences in Iran. She has experience working as a general physician in rural areas as well as in the ED in Iran, as well as on a UNICEF project for child abuse in Iran. She enjoys reading, photography, working out, chatting with friends, and traveling. She is interested in neuroscience and research and is planning to do a research or neuropsychiatry fellowship.
Dr. Broucek is originally from South Dakota, and graduated from Sanford School of Medicine of the University of South Dakota in 2011. Her hobbies are wide ranging including cooking, home renovation, reading, and showing horses. She plans to stay in the Midwest and would love to service rural locations.
Dr. Bruce is from Hastings, Nebraska and did his undergraduate work in Psychology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis. During college, he was a crisis and suicide counselor for more than two years. He graduated from the Des Moines University Osteopathic Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He enjoys sports, reading, movies, and spending time with his family. Dr. Bruce is currently serving as Co-Chief Resident.
Dr. Madan grew up in Patiala city in North India. He finished Psychiatry Residency from PGIMER in Chandigarh, India. He is interested in telepsychiatry, research, teaching opportunities and to present work at national as well as international conferences. Dr. Madan is a high energy individual who loves the outdoors, to have fun, exercise, and eat out at the many great restaurants in Omaha, and spend time with his friends on the weekend. He has participated in the "Warrier Dash Nebraska" for 2 years.
Dr. Monga graduated from NHL Medical College in Ahmedabad, India in 2004. He completed a residency in Psychiatry in India and practiced for 2 years before he moved to the US in 2010. He worked as a research associate at the VA Hospital in Omaha before joining our program as a resident. He loves to work with the adult population and is keenly interested in psychopharmacology. He loves to play cricket and has participated in various cricket leagues in Omaha. His wife is an Internist and they have one son. Dr. Monga is currently serving as Co-Associate Chief Resident.
Dr. Walia is originally from the royal city of Patiala in Punjab, India and completed her medical school from Government Medical College, Amritsar before moving to the United States. She completed an externship at the VA medical center & Providence Hospital in Washington DC before starting her residency training. She is interested in medical student education and has been actively involved in the M1, M2 and M3 curriculum. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents and plans on doing a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship. She currently holds the position of PRO President as well as Co-Chief Resident. In her free time she enjoys cooking, dancing, shopping (retail therapy), and travelling with her husband who is an Anesthesiology resident at UNMC.
Dr. Wigington graduated UNMC College of Medicine in 2011. He is a member of the Psychiatry Interest Group at UNMC and The Helping Hands Grant Project, a mental health service project funded by the American Psychiatric Foundation. He is interested in research and teaching. He is a collegiate golfer and enjoys playing on his free time.
