Resident Class, 2017
Anita Bansal, MD

Dr. Bansal grew up in a small town in North Dakota. After graduating from high school, she joined the American University of Antigua School of Medicine. She found her passion to lie in the field of psychiatry and has developed an interest in women's health as well as eating disorders. She is planning to pursue a career in child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In her free time, she enjoys spending time baking, running, and taking her dog Crouton to the park.

Rachel Faust, MD

Dr. Faust is originally from Petersburg, NE. She received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State College in 2009 in chemistry/health sciences with a minor in psychology. She graduated from UNMC College of Medicine in 2013 and was a member of the Rural Health Opportunities Program. She married her high school sweetheart just before entering residency. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her two puppies, a black lab and a pug, and she likes to counted cross stitch. She loves playing with her baby daughter the most. Her interests lie in women's health, particularly during pregnancy and postpartum. She would like to practice in rural Nebraska after completing her training. She is currently serving as Co-Associate Chief Resident. 

Holly McNew, MD

Dr. McNew was born and raised in Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University with a Bachelors in Biology. She received her medical training at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten and did her clinical rotations in Louisiana, California, and New York. She has lived all over the country and she's excited to be settled in lovely Omaha. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, especially hiking, camping, and the beach!

Madhu Pulluri, MBBS

Dr. Pulluri was born and raised in a small town in southern India. She obtained her undergraduate medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad in 2004. Following her medical school, she met her husband who inspired her to enter the field of Psychiatry. She completed 3 years of psychiatry residency in England before moving to Omaha. She has a 4 year old son and expecting another. She is trained in Indian classical dance and loves watching psychological thrillers and documentaries on history. She enjoys socializing and cooking authentic Indian food.

Christopher Rainville, MD

Dr. Rainville was raised in Spokane, WA and graduated from Seattle University with a degree in Biology and Global Politics. He attended Creighton University School of Medicine for his medical training. He enjoys biking, playing soccer, hiking, and camping. He also fosters golden retrievers for the Golden Retriever Rescue In Nebraska (GRRIN) organization. He is undecided about pursuing a subspecialty but loves general psychiatry.

Nathaniel Reich, MD

Dr. Reich left his hometown of Duluth, MN to pursue one of his many passions, snowboarding, in the Colorado mountains, where he studied Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He also enjoys hiking and spending time with his dog Wrigley. After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2013, he moved to Omaha to begin Psychiatry residency. He has an interest in Addiction Psychiatry with a special interest in rehabilitating impaired physicians with drug and alcohol dependence.  

Katelyn Thompson, DO

Dr. Thompson graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. She is currently serving as co-Associate Chief Resident. Her hobbies and interests include spending time with family, golf, frolf, bowling, snowboarding, yard games, and musical theater.

Rick Yang, MD

Dr. Yang graduated from Union College in Lincoln NE with a degree in Biology. He then finished his medical training with UNMC College of Medicine before joining our psychiatry residency. Growing up in Taiwan, he not only is bilingual but also enjoys people from different cultures. Some of Dr. Yang’s passion in psychiatry ranging from schizophrenic patients to LGBT population. Outside of medicine, he’s interested in travel and photography.
