Creighton University will serve as a central element of the future-focused Phoenix Medical Quarter announced by Mayor Kate Gallego in her April 12 State of the City address. The new destination, home to Creighton University's Phoenix campus, acknowledges the significant influx of healthcare, bioscience and medical education in Park Central and midtown Phoenix.

“Creighton University is proud to be a part of the incredible healthcare expansion happening in Phoenix,” said the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD, president of Creighton University. “The collaboration shared across the institutions that will make up this new medical hub is precisely why our health sciences graduates are filling the increasing demand for medical professionals in Arizona. The Phoenix Medical Quarter will strengthen and expand these efforts as the city seeks to lead the way in healthcare education and delivery. Efforts like this are not just needed, they are essential to providing world-class health services that benefit both providers and patients.”

This transformation recognizes that Creighton University, along with Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute and new biomedical institutions coming into the area, are creating a collaborative healthcare ecosystem that is advancing health and education in Greater Phoenix.

The encompassing area of the Phoenix Medical Quarter will stretch from Central Avenue to 5th Avenue and Thomas to Osborn.
