The Graphic Standards Policy of Creighton University is managed by the Marketing and Communications Department. There is to be no deviation from the Graphic Standards without express, written approval of that department.

Anyone desiring to use the Creighton logo should first consult Marketing and Communications to insure correct usage. The logo should not be used on individuals' personal web sites which are not official departmental communications tools.

Access to Campus and the Use of Photographic Equipment

Marketing and Communications operates on the principle that this is an open campus where restrictions on news media personnel should not be limited.  However, respect for the privacy of our students, faculty and staff, and occasional mitigating circumstances, require that we set some rules regarding access. Among them are:

  • News-gathering personnel, including television camera crews, are free to enter the campus but Marketing and Communications would like to be notified ahead of time.  In addition, they are expected to obey campus parking and other regulations.
  • The use of still or video images from the campus for advocacy of political positions or candidacies is prohibited.
  • Entry to classrooms, offices and places of worship by news gathering personnel must be cleared in advance Access to all residence halls is strictly prohibited without prior permission of the Marketing and Communications Division.
  • If a University news conferences is held, media will be notified what parking is available.

In times of emergency, all of the above regulations and policies may be suspended or altered.

For these issues contact Cindy Workman, CWorkman@creighton.edu or Deborah Daley, DeborahDaley@creighton.edu.

Commercial Use of Creighton Facilities

Creighton protects its name and landmarks from inappropriate commercial use but strives to cooperate with film and video producers desiring to use Creighton facilities when it can be demonstrated their activities serve the University's mission and interest. Contact should be made with Marketing and Communications, specifically a member of the News and Digital Media staff and the request will be reviewed. Once a decision is made to permit such filming, Marketing and Communications will be responsible for working with the production company and coordinating efforts with other University offices as appropriate.

Media Attending Events at Creighton University

Often, media will attend an event as part of their news coverage.  When possible we encourage media to let us know ahead of time if they are attending, so we can best meet needs for parking, directions and additional background information.  In the case of lectures or similar activities, notification ahead of time gives us an opportunity to set up to accommodate sound and video.  We also encourage you to wear a media badge or similar credential for easy identification.
