Reactions mixed on iPad

Midlands technology experts who tuned into Apple's long-awaited announcement of its tablet computer Wednesday gave mixed reviews to the iPad. Cindy Corritore, an associate professor of information systems and technology at Creighton University, said the device gives publishers of printed material access to iTunes, Apple's retooled content delivery system, with the ability to set their own price for content.

Hoops hardball: Cubs GM visits Bluejays

Creighton's basketball team got a visit from a distinguished guest after Wednesday's 73-68 victory at Bradley. Chicago Cubs General Manager Jim Hendry drove down to Peoria, Ill., to watch his old school play. As Creighton's baseball coach, Hendry led the Bluejays to their only appearance in the College World Series in 1991.

Jones hits his Js for Bluejays

Josh Jones turned out Wednesday night to be Creighton’s version of Justin Clark. Clark is the Illinois State freshman who torched the Bluejays a week ago by scoring 13 points, three more than he had all season. He missed just one shot in the Redbirds’ 71-62 win after failing to find the range on 9 of every 10 shots he had taken prior to the game.
