The Henry Doorly Zoo is among the zoos that have been studying heart conditions in male gorillas. Creighton University's Cardiac Center, which has donated the echocardiogram machine and the expertise of an ultra sonographer, had found heart disease in at least six (including Gerry) of the zoo's 10 male gorillas.
