Creighton Alumna Receives Creighton’s Alumni Achievement Citation
Sharon Culhane Harper, Phoenix, Ariz., will receive an Alumni Achievement Citation from Creighton University at winter commencement ceremonies on Dec. 16.
Harper graduated from Creighton in 1969 with a degree in journalism. She is president and chief executive officer of The Plaza Companies, an Arizona-based real estate development, investment and management firm.
Her professional and community accomplishments span nearly three decades in the Phoenix area. She spends countless hours giving back to the community and using her business acumen to support corporate, government, academic, health services and cultural organizations. Harper lends her leadership to numerous boards, including the Arizona Community Foundation, the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, the Governor’s Arizona Film and Television Commission; she served as co-chair for the Phoenix area Creighton Campaign 2000. She or her firm has received numerous awards, including “Women of the Year” by Today’s Arizona Woman magazine and the Athena Award by the Arizona Chamber of Commerce.
The Alumni Achievement Citation is given to a graduate of Creighton who has provided distinguished service to the university or his/her own community which clearly exemplifies the University credo. The recipient must have a personal quality that makes them cultured and of high moral principles guided by the Jesuit ideal of being men and women for others.
