C-SPAN Bus To Visit Creighton

The award-winning C-SPAN School Bus, a 45-foot mobile television production studio and demonstration center, will stop in Deglman Circle at Creighton University on Friday, June 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Creighton’s Upward Bound students will be invited onboard the Bus to learn about the network’s programming goals and the importance of developing critical viewing techniques.

The C-SPAN staff will provide tours of the bright yellow bus for an up-close look at the “studio on wheels” and learn about the network’s varied public affairs programming.

On Thursday, June 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the C-SPAN School Bus will visit the W. Dale Clark Branch of the Omaha Public Library at 215 S. 15th St.

The C-Span School Bus appearance in Omaha is sponsored by Cox Communications. In Omaha, C-SPAN can be seen on channel 7 and C-SPAN2 on channel 6.

Hitting the road for the first time in November 1993, the C-SPAN School Bus has visited all 50 states and logged over 275,000 miles in its travels. Visit www.c-spanschoolbus.org for more on the Bus and www.c-spanclassroom.org for more about the network’s free educator website resource.

C-SPAN, the political network of record, was created and is funded by America’s cable television companies as a public service. C-SPAN is available in over 89 million households nationwide and C-SPAN2 is in 80 million homes.
