Daley Named Director of Public Relations

After more than 30 years, Deborah S. Daley, a 1976 graduate of Creighton University, has returned to Omaha as the director of public relations in the Department of Marketing and Public Relations at Creighton University.

Daley earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in journalism and speech and drama, along with a minor in education. After graduating from Creighton, Daley started her 30-year career in public relations.

Daley’s most prominent work was accomplished while working for the American Red Cross for 28 years, working at all levels of the organization, including the national headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she worked as an associate, moving her way up the corporate ladder to vice president of Corporate Communication and Marketing.

She began her career in Omaha working as an account executive at Patricia Leslie Public Relations, subsequently becoming director of public relations for the Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross in Omaha.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have come home to Creighton — an institution whose values I believe in, whose mission of service is without equal, whose academic excellence and community ties are unparalleled,” she said.

Daley has been the recipient of a variety of awards ranging from Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2005, Public Relations Nonprofit Team of the Year in 2004, and the American Red Cross Tiffany Award for Employee Excellence.

Daley’s family is from the Council Bluffs, Iowa, area. She grew up in Fremont, Neb.
