Creighton Dean Emeritus Shkolnick Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Omaha Bar Association

On Tuesday, May 2, the Omaha Bar Association awarded Creighton University Dean Emeritus and Law Professor Rodney (Rod) Shkolnick with its Lifetime Achievement Award.

Shkolnick has taught at Creighton University for 45 years and in that time has had an impact on numerous students lives. He served as dean from 1977 to 1988, stepping down to resume full-time teaching of first year contracts and related real property and mortgage classes.

From 1965 to 1971, he was a partner in the firm of McGrath North where he remains "of counsel." On receiving the award Shkolnik was quoted as saying,"All we have is our students; that's what we leave as our legacy."

A graduate of the University of Iowa and its law school, Shkolnick was awarded the Nebraska State Bar Foundations Outstanding Legal Educator Award in 1981.

He is the author of Nebraska Uniform Commercial Code Forms: With Practice Comments (West Publishing Co. 1965) (with Winsor C. Moore).
