Law School Negotiating Teams Tie for First

Two of Creighton University School of Law’s negotiating teams were tied for first place, along with the team for Hamline, during the American Bar Association Region 7 Negotiation Competition held in Minneapolis this past weekend.

After the first round on Saturday morning the Creighton team of Janelle Niebuhr and Sydney Ash was in first place among the 20 teams competing. The Creighton team of Colleen Byers and Tracy Darmody was in a tie for second place.

The top four teams competed in the final round Sunday before a panel of four judges. At the conclusion of the final round there was a three-way tie for first place among the two Creighton teams and the team from Hamline. Under a tie-breaking formula the Hamline team was awarded the automatic berth to the national competition. It is likely the two Creighton teams will also advance to nationals with at-large berths.
