Creighton Staff Honored by Wellness Council of the Midlands

Recently Creighton University employees were recognized for their healthy habits. Alice Smith received recognition for making successful changes in her health habits as a result of Creighton’s wellness programs. Receiving a Leadership Award was Carol McCormack, acknowledging her outstanding efforts in promoting wellness and making it an important part of the University’s strategic direction.

The Light of Wellness Award was created to recognize the founder and inspiration for worksite wellness in America – William M. Kizer. An Omaha-native and business leader, Kizer founded the Wellness Council of Midlands in 1982 and its national non-profit counterpart, the Wellness Councils of America, in 1987.

Nominees have to meet criteria in five categories – social, physical, intellectual, spiritual and emotional health.
