Boff to Speak on Solidarity and Communion in a Globalized World

Lina Boff, OSM, professor of Systematic Theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will speak on “Solidarity and Communion in a Globalized World” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in the Skutt Student Center Ballroom.

Boff, a Servite sister, is also a graduate dean at the same school and the author of many articles and books, and has many years experience in pastoral work among the Brazilian poor. She is the sister of Leonardo and Clodovis Boff, also internationally known Theologians.

Maria Krane, Ph.D., executive director of International Programs and a native of Brazil, will serve as her interpreter.

Boff’s U.S. tour is sponsored by the Servite Coalition for Justice, an Intercommunity Social Justice Group of the U.S. Servants of Mary (sponsors of Omaha’s Marian High School).

Campus sponsors include Cardoner at Creighton, the Creighton Center for Service & Justice, the Justice & Peace Studies Program, Office of International Programs, and the Catholic Imagination Project of the Center for the Study of Religion & Society.
