Costanzo to Head Creighton Clinical Nurse Leader Project
Cindy Costanzo, Ph.D., R.N., has been named program director for Creighton University School of Nursing’s new Clinical Nurse Leader degree.
Designed for persons already holding associate or bachelor’s degrees in nursing, the program will be offered for the first time in spring 2007.
Costanzo, an assistant professor of nursing, is program chair of nursing systems administration at Creighton. Her nursing career spans nearly 30 years and includes extensive experience in leadership, strategic-decision making, management, education and clinical care.
Prior to Creighton, she was director of nursing at Fremont (Neb.) Area Medical Center, 2003-2005. She also has held numerous other positions at Creighton and University of Nebraska Medical Center.
“Cindy Costanzo’s expertise and background in nursing management, along with her strong leadership skills, will benefit students who want to lead change and improve the quality of care,” said Eleanor Howell, Ph.D., R.N., Creighton dean of nursing.
