Women's Athletics "Leader for Life" Award

People who have a passion for a cause are often known by a single name. Such a rare person is Carol “Ketch” Ketcham, the recipient of Creighton University’s annual Leader for Life award.

The award, which will be given at the “Leaders for Life” fundraiser luncheon for women’s athletics at 11:45 a.m. on May 4 at the Rev. Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium, honors an individual whose actions have made a lasting impact on women’s sports at the University.

For more than 30 years, Ketcham has held various positions in Creighton University’s athletic department ranging from senior women’s administrator to athletic ticket manager to co-tournament director for the College World Series.

Since 1997, the Shenandoah, Iowa, native has served as the Athletic Development Officer and Director of Special Events and has played an integral role in raising more than a $1 million through the Bluejay Jamboree.

“Carol is the consummate Bluejay working tirelessly on behalf of student athletes,” said Director of Athletics, Bruce Rasmussen.

Ketcham received Creighton’s Distinguished Services Administrator’s Award in 1990.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
