Spanish Course for Health Care Professionals Offered by Creighton
One of the fastest growing populations in Omaha is Hispanic, doubling in size since 1990 and comprising 7.5 percent of the city’s population. For many, Spanish is also their first language. To support health care professionals seeking to communicate more effectively with Spanish-speaking patients,
Creighton University’s Center for Professional Development is offering a new 10-week continuing education course beginning Tuesday, Sept. 4. The classes will be held from 4-7 p.m. in the Morrison Seminar Room at Creighton University’s Medical Center and costs $395.
The course is designed to help participants develop basic skills in conversational Spanish in order to improve interaction and delivery of service while understanding cultural attitudes towards health care.
There are no formal prerequisites for the course which is designed for all types of health care workers. To register, call (402) 280-2425 or register online at events.creighton.edu. Continuing education credits are available.
