Creighton Professor Selected to Join Apple Distinguished Educator Program

Creighton University journalism professor Joel Davies has been selected to join the Apple Distinguished Educator Program class of 2007. Davies is one of 100 members chosen by Apple for the class.

Apple invites educators with expertise in educational technology leadership to join the program. These professionals are first to make effective use of new technologies in the classroom and through their successes, have influenced other educators and administrators.

The purpose of the Apple Distinguished Educator Program is to provide a forum for Apple and educators worldwide to exchange ideas about the effective uses of new technologies to create engaging learning environments that will promote student achievement and academic scholarship.

Started in 1994, the program has identified over 1000 key educators emerging as leaders in the field of educational technology all over the globe.

Davies received his bachelorís degree from Creighton University and his masterís degree in fine arts from Indiana State University. A faculty member at Creighton since 1999, Davies currently heads the visual communications sequence and is director of the interdisciplinary graphic design program in the journalism department.
