Creighton Physician Accepted Into National Leadership Program

Archana Chatterjee, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of pediatrics and medical microbiology and immunology at Creighton University, has been selected to participate in the 2007-2008 Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Program for Women (ELAM).

ELAM is a one-year program aimed at expanding the national pool of qualified women for leadership roles in academic medicine, dentistry and public health. The program, offered through Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Penn., includes extensive coaching, networking and mentoring opportunities.

At Creighton, Chatterjee has been active in research, teaching and clinical care. Her interests include vaccine development for human papilloma viruses, recently linked to cervical cancer; community-acquired staph infections; drug-resistant diseases; and health issues facing at-risk populations, particularly children.
