Creighton Names President of Red Cloud Indian School to Board of Directors

The Rev. Peter J. Klink, S.J., has been elected to the Creighton Universityís Board of Directors. Fr. Klink is President of the Red Cloud Indian School, Inc. and a Canonical Catholic pastor at the Pine Ridge Reservation in Pine Ridge, S.D. He will serve a four-year term. His election follows the movement of the Rev. Robert E. Manning, S. J., to emeritus status on the board.

Fr. Klink has been involved in education with the Red Cloud School or other institutions for more than 30 years as a teacher, superintendent and administrator. He also served as the director of the National Office of Jesuit Social Ministries in Washington, D. C. from 1991-1995. His religious leadership duties have ranged from serving as an assistant director of novices to a consultor to the Wisconsin Provincial for the Society of Jesus. He is also a member of Alpha Sigma Nu and served on the Board of Directors of the Oglala Sioux Tribal Construction Company in Pine Ridge as well as St. Stephens Indian Mission, Inc., in St. Stephens, Wyo.

Ordained in 1981, he has a bachelors of arts from St. Louis University and a masterís of divinity and sacred theology from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif. He also attended the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, as a Fulbright Scholar.
