Del Core Named Associate Director of Creighton Cardiac Center
Michael G. Del Core, M.D., has been named associate director of The Cardiac Center of Creighton University Medical Center. Del Core assumed the position on March 19th.
“I am enthusiastic about working with Dr. Del Core in furthering the mission of the Creighton Cardiac Center,” said Dennis J. Esterbrooks, M.D., chief of the Division of Cardiology at Creighton University School of Medicine. “His experience as medical director of the invasive and clinical laboratories and his success in developing medical student curriculums and directing the interventional cardiovascular fellowship are assets which will further secure the Creighton Cardiac Center’s prominence as a leader in patient care, education and research.”
Del Core joined Creighton’s School of Medicine as a full-time faculty member in 1988. Since then, he has held many positions in the Division of Cardiology, including medical director of the invasive and clinical laboratories, director of interventional training and research programs, and assistant medical director of medical student education for Creighton University School of Medicine.
Del Core has been nominated for the Creighton University School of Medicine Golden Apple Award in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology and specializing in invasive cardiology, Del Core received his medical degree from Creighton University. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his cardiovascular fellowship at Creighton University Medical Center. Del Core is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
