Catholic Health Care Providers to Celebrate White Mass on Oct. 18

Catholic physicians, medical students and other health care providers will have the opportunity to celebrate their vocations and their faith during a White Mass on Oct. 18.

The Mass will be celebrated, beginning at 7 p.m., at St. John's Church on the Creighton campus. A reception will immediately follow Mass in the university's Skutt Student Center, room 104. The Creighton Catholic Medical Students Association and the Omaha Guild of the Catholic Medical Association helped organize the event.

Across the country, Catholic Medical Association guilds will hold White Masses on or near Oct. 18, the feast of St. Luke, the patron saint of physicians. The color of white is often used to symbolize health care workers.
