Creighton Medical Clinic in Dundee to Relocate

Creighton Medical Associates (CMA) plans to relocate its Dundee medical clinic to the former Dundee Hardware Plus at the corner of 50th and Underwood streets, Robert Glow, CMA chief executive officer, announced today.

Creighton President the Rev. John P. Schlegel, S.J., said the relocation reflects Creighton’s continuing commitment to meet the health care needs of Omaha’s downtown and midtown neighborhoods.

“Creighton has long been committed to serving the health needs of the Dundee neighborhood,” Schlegel said. “Our move to the highly visible 50th and Underwood location is good for Creighton and important for the continued renaissance and revitalization of this beautiful and historical district.”

Glow noted that Creighton plans to continue serving the greater Omaha community as well, “focusing on the medical needs of our neighborhoods while offering high quality, affordable health care in a way that only an academic medical center can.”

For years, the Dundee clinic has offered a full-service diabetes center and an internal medicine practice on the first and third floors of a medical building located at 119 N. 51 St.

The new site will provide more space, additional parking and easier patient access. “We like the new location because it is in the heart of the vibrant Dundee neighborhood, and it offers 9,000 square feet on one, main floor – nearly double the space of our current location,” Glow said.

Creighton, which will lease the historical building from ELKCO Properties of Denver, Colo., will begin renovations in the near future. Glow estimated that Creighton would be ready to move into the 50th and Underwood location by Spring 2008.

“We plan to work closely with the neighborhood association as we renovate the former hardware store,” he said.

Creighton Medical Associates has 15 clinics in the Omaha metro area. The largest clinic operates from Creighton University Medical Center, 601 N. 30 St.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
