Parkinson’s Disease Conference for Physicians, Patients, Caregivers

Creighton University will hold its fourth annual conference on “Parkinson’s Progress” on Friday, Sept. 28, at the Omaha Marriott Hotel, 10220 Regency Circle.

The conference will include two tracks – one designed for health care providers and the other for patients, families and caregivers.Nebraska has the fourth highest incidence of Parkinson’s disease among U.S. states. Genetic and environmental links to Parkinson’s disease, new drug therapies, current statistics and data from the Nebraska Parkinson’s Registry, and the American Parkinson Disease Association’s Informational and Referral Center will be among the topics covered.

Registration cost is $20 per person for patients, family and caregivers; $120 for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants; $75 for other health care professionals; and $55 for medical residents and health professions’ students. Continuing education credit is available for some groups.

Conference sponsors are Creighton University’s School of Medicine, Department of Neurology and Continuing Medical Education Division, in conjunction with the American Parkinson Disease Association and Creighton University Medical Center.
