DeVelder Named Associate Dean for Student Services at Creighton University School of Law
Creighton University School of Law recently announced that Carla DeVelder, J.D., former director of career services at the University of Notre Dame Law School, will serve as associate dean for student services, beginning in August. In her new position, DeVelder will supervise the assistant deans of admissions and career services as well as student organizations.
“I’m delighted that she is coming to Creighton,” said Eric A. Chiappinelli., dean of the Creighton University School of Law. “Her background and experience are exactly the right fit for us. The law school is fortunate to have outstanding student services professionals. DeVelder is the perfect person to head our strategic efforts in those areas and build on our success. Our students will quickly reap the benefits of her work here.”
DeVelder received her law degree from the University of Nebraska, where she served as assistant dean and director of career services before moving to Notre Dame. She is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association and practiced law in Omaha for several years before entering academic administration.
