Creighton University Celebrates Founders Week

Each year Creighton University commemorates the death of one of its founding fathers, John A. Creighton, by observing Founders Week. It begins this year with Founders Week Mass at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb.10, in St. Johnís Church. The week is a time for the University to celebrate its historical beginnings, recognize the accomplishments of students, faculty and staff, reflect and dialogue about the future and network with each other.

Creighton University President, the Rev. John P. Schlegel, S. J.ís Convocation speech at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb.12, in Rigge Science 120, will highlight the week. Following his remarks, faculty members with 25 years of service to the University will be honored, emeriti promotions will be conferred, and the distinguished administrator and distinguished faculty service awards will be presented.

Also planned is the inauguration of a chair in the School of Medicine, a student-organized leadership recognition event, a School of Nursing retreat and much more.
