Nebraska’s senior United States Senator Chuck Hagel will give the third annual Ross Horning Lecture at 6 p.m., Monday, March 17, in Creighton University’s Skutt Student Center ballroom. The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the lecture.

Hagel’s talk will focus on several topics covered in his soon-to- be released book “America: Our Next Chapter Tough Questions, Straight Answers.” The book is scheduled for release by Harper Collins on March 25, 2008.

Hagel, a decorated war veteran, is completing his second term. His duties include membership on four senate committees: Foreign Relations; Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; Intelligence; and Rules.

The Ross Horning Lecture Series is meant to reflect the many dimensions of Ross Horning’s life and career as a professor of History, patron of the arts and the community, professional baseball player, international traveler and student mentor.
