Simic Named Senior Associate Vice President of Development and Campaign Director
Laura C. Simic, CFRE, has been named senior associate vice president of Development and Campaign Director at Creighton University.
Simic, a 25-year veteran in the fund-raising field, most recently served as associate vice chancellor for development at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she was responsible for the schoolís $100 million capital campaign.
In her new role she will be responsible for building partnerships with the deans to achieve school-based goals as well as managing sustaining and major gifts, corporations and foundations and medical school development. She will also be responsible for the tactical implementation of the Willing to Lead campaign, the Universityís largest fundraising effort to date.
A recipient of numerous awards including Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Chancellorís Citation for Extraordinary Community Service and Outstanding Young Women of America, Simic has also lent her skills to many civic and service organizations. She was the national president of the Delta Delta Delta Foundation, past chair of the board and the nominating committee for United Family Services and is active in her alumni and church organizations.
She received her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Oregon and a masterís degree from the University of Tennessee in leadership studies. She is also a certified fund raising executive from the Association of Fundraising Professionals and active the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
