Gentry-Nielsen Named to Women’s Health Advisory Council

Martha Gentry-Nielsen, Ph.D., a professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at Creighton University School of Medicine, has been appointed to the Nebraska Women’s Health Advisory Council.

Gentry-Nielsen joined Creighton’s faculty in 1990. At Creighton, she helped create and formerly chaired the Women in Medicine and Science program, designed to provide female faculty with the support needed to succeed in an academic medical setting and to address issues facing female medical and graduate students and residents. In 2006, the University awarded her the Mary Lucretia and Sara Emily Creighton Award for serving as a role model of accomplishment for women.

As a member of the Women’s Health Advisory Council, she will advise and serve as a resource for the Nebraska Health and Human Services Office of Women’s Health.
