Creighton’s Werner Institute to Host Two International Conferences
The Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at the Creighton University School of Law will host two international conferences that will run from June 3 to June 7.
The first conference, “Creating Cultures of Engagement in Health Care International Conference and Dialogue,” will be held June 3-5, at the Skutt Student Center on the Creighton University campus. The conference will bring together international leaders from the health care industry and the field of dispute resolution to discuss conflict management methods for health care.
Participants will focus on new models for addressing conflict, disruption and avoidance in health care settings. Professionals from medicine, law, patient advocacy, and dispute resolution will seek to find innovative practices that are shifting the health system away from conflict and building “collaborative engagement.”
More information on this conference and registration forms may be found at www.creighton.edu/werner/.
The second conference, “Chaos, Complexity and Conflict,” will be held June 5-7 at the Skutt Student, the Old Market Embassy Suites and at the Henry Doorly Zoo’s Lied Jungle.
The conference will bring together international leaders from the complexity sciences, organizational development, and conflict-management fields and will focus on applying chaos theory and studies of complexity and emergence to conflict resolution.
Participants will discuss how an understanding of complexity can improve conflict resolution. The conference also will integrate theory and real-world applications for practitioners working in complex organizations.
