“Radical Orthodoxy” Among Topics at Creighton-Hosted Conference
The Creighton University Department of Philosophy will host the American Catholic Philosophical Association’s 82nd annual meeting, Oct. 31-Nov. 2, at the Hilton Omaha, 1001 Cass St.
The general theme of this year’s conference – the first ever to be hosted by Creighton – is “Forgiveness,” although papers will be delivered on a wide range of subjects. Topics to be covered include “Philosophy of Thomas Aquinas,” “The Limits of Forgiveness,” “The Meaning of Forgiveness,” “Friendship,” “Philosophy of Religion,” and “Virtue Ethics.”
Speakers include John Milbank of the University of Nottingham in England, a prime mover in the postmodern Christian theological movement known as “Radical Orthodoxy;” Creighton faculty; and speakers from a variety of U.S. colleges and universities.
