Creighton Theology Professor Receives National Wisdom Research Grant
Michael Legaspi, Ph. D., assistant professor of theology at Creighton University has been named a 2008 Defining Wisdom grant award winner. Legaspi, one of 24 receiving this national honor, received more than $100,000 for his research project titled, “Wisdom as Skillful Interpretation: Scriptural Appropriation and Hermeneutics of Recovery.” Award winners were chosen because each showed promise of a distinctive contribution to wisdom research and the potential to help establish a new and rigorous field of research on the topic of wisdom.
In addition to project presentations and discussions, each proposal underwent a two-stage process of peer review.
Defining Wisdom is a research project on the nature and benefits of wisdom supported by the University of Chicago and the John Templeton Foundation.
