Creighton Offers Life-Saving Oral Cancer Screenings

Creighton University’s School of Dentistry will offer free oral cancer screenings in observance of Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week on Wednesday, April 29 from 8-10 a.m. Dental students and faculty will conduct these 10-minute, painless, life-saving screenings. The event at the Boyne Dental School, 2802 Webster St., is open to the public. Participants will be taken on a first-come, first serve basis.

More than 35,000 Americans were diagnosed with oral cancers of the head and neck last year; with about 20 percent dying from these diseases. Unfortunately many Americans do not recognize the symptoms of these life-threatening diseases.
