Creighton to Host “Kicks For a Cure” Women’s Soccer Event, April 17-18
Creighton University will host the fourth annual Kicks for a Cure event, April 17-18 at Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium.
On Friday, April 17, a free soccer clinic, conducted by participating players and coaches, will be held for underprivileged youth.
High school and college women’s soccer teams will play in exhibition matches on Saturday, April 18. High school Class A teams Millard West and Lincoln Southwest will face off at 11 a.m., followed by University of South Dakota and University of Kansas at 1:30p.m., University of Nebraska-Omaha and Truman State University at 4 p.m., and Creighton University and Iowa State University at 6:30 p.m. Photo and autograph sessions will immediately follow both collegiate games.
General admission tickets are on sale at the Morrison Stadium ticket office and cost $7 for adults and $4 for youths. Children five years of age or younger are admitted free. Discount coupons ($2 off) are available at all Omaha-area First National Bank locations.
Proceeds will benefit Liz’s Legacy, a fund started in memory of the late Liz Karnes, who died of ovarian cancer in 2003. Liz’s Legacy benefits research projects at Creighton and UNMC. Last year, the event raised $154,000.
