Samuel Augustine, a Creighton University professor of pharmacy practice, has earned the American Pharmacists Association’s 2009 Daniel B. Smith Practice Excellence Award.

Augustine received the award for his contributions to the profession of pharmacy at the state and national levels, his efforts to advance nuclear pharmacy, and his training and mentorship of pharmacy students.

Augustine joined Creighton in 2004 as an associate professor. In addition to teaching, his research interests include radioimmunotherapy, nutricueticals, and parenteral products. He is president-elect of the Nebraska Pharmacists Association.

The Daniel B. Smith award, named for the association’s first president, recognizes the outstanding performance and achievements of a pharmacist who has distinguished himself in the profession of pharmacy.
