Creighton Dental Students Offer Life-Saving Oral Cancer Screenings
Creighton University School of Dentistry students will offer free oral cancer screenings Saturday, June 13 from 8 a.m- 4 p.m. at the Charles Drew Health Center, 2915 Grant St.
In addition to the 10-minute, painless, life-saving screenings, participants will receive tooth brushes, toothpaste and a referral list for further care if needed. The event is free and open to the public. Participants will be taken on a first-come, first served basis.
More than 35,000 Americans were diagnosed with oral cancers of the head and neck last year, with about 20 percent dying from these diseases. Unfortunately many Americans do not recognize the symptoms of these life-threatening diseases.
