"West Side Story" is Creighton's Spring Musical

Tony Award-Winning Actress Directing Creighton University’s Spring Musical “West Side Story”

Tickets are on sale for Creighton University’s exciting spring musical production of “West Side Story.” Tony award-winning actress Michele Pawk is directing the production on the Mainstage of Creighton’s Lied Education Center for the Arts, 24th and Cass streets.

The musical will hold eight performances at 7:30 p.m. on March 26-28 and April 2-4, with Sunday afternoon performances at 2 p.m. on March 29 and April 5. A special benefit performance for well-known local stage manager Lara Marsh, who needs a double-lung transplant, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on March 25. Tickets for the benefit are $20, with all proceeds going to the Lara Marsh fund.

Pawk, the guest director for the spring musical, won a Tony award for her performance in the Broadway play, “Hollywood Arms.” She has been seen in a number of Broadway and off-Broadway musicals, films and television shows.

Creighton music professor Stephen Sheftz is the music director for the production. Sheftz, an experienced musician, has been in 71 productions of musicals/operas around the country, serving as musical director/conductor for 49 productions.

Choreographer Patrick Roddy has choreographed and been seen in the Creighton
Dance Company's performances many times.
