Kroeger Elected to Creighton University Board of Directors

The Creighton University Board of Directors elected Terry J. Kroeger to the Board on March 2, 2009. Kroeger is president and chief executive officer of The Omaha World-Herald Company and publisher of the Omaha World-Herald, Americaís largest employee-owned newspaper company. He will serve a four-year term.

An Omaha native, Kroeger has been part of The Omaha World-Herald Company for more than 20 years, beginning his career as assistant purchasing agent and property manager in 1985. Prior to being named vice president, Kroeger was publisher of The Record, a newspaper in Stockton, Calif.. He returned to Omaha in 1999 to lead the construction of the Omaha World-Heraldís production facility. In 2001, he assumed management of production, circulation, sales and administration, and in 2005 was named president and chief operating officer.

Kroeger graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelorís degree in finance and economics. Other boards he serves on include the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce; Durham Western Heritage Museum; TeamMates Mentoring Program; World Marketing; Government Systems; Software & Services, Inc.; Mutual of Omaha Bank; Council Bluffs Nonpareil; Iowa Newspapers; and Midlands Newspapers. He is chairman of the board of the College of Saint Mary, a Governor of the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben and chairman of the Omaha 21st Century Education Steering Committee.

Kroeger and his wife, Jackie, have four children.
