Creighton Medical Faculty, Students Recognized with Annual Awards
Creighton University School of Medicine students have selected the winners of the 2009 Golden Apple Awards, given to Creighton faculty members and residents for excellence in teaching and dedication to patient care.
P.J. Malin, M.D., received Golden Apple awards from both third- and four-year medical students, making her the first Creighton faculty member to be recognized by two classes in the same year. Robert Mackin, Ph.D., and William Hunter, M.D., received the award from first- and second-year medical students, respectively. Residents Eric Peters and Rob Lindau also earned Golden Apple awards.
Receiving the Aesculapian Award, given to one medical student in each class annually for guidance and compassion as well as selfless service to the class, the community and the University, were Brandon Hankey, Thuy Koll, Rick Carlson, Jr., and Chelsey Petz.
