Creighton University Student Receives $1,000 Scholarship

Chelsea Christensen, a Creighton University College of Business freshman from Johnson, Neb., has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).

Christensen and 49 other NSCS members were selected for the scholarship based on several criteria, including knowledge of and commitment to the NSCS mission and ideas, essays, participation in extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.

“We read hundreds of applications for this award, and Chelsea truly stood out,” said Thomas Locke, member of the NSCS Scholarship Review Committee.

NSCS is an honors organization for high-achieving freshmen and sophomores at 240 universities nationwide. Membership is by invitation only and based upon a student’s grade point average and class standing.
