Parkinson’s Disease Conference for Physicians, Patients, Caregivers
Creighton University will hold its sixth annual conference on “Parkinson’s Progress” on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Omaha Marriott Hotel, 10220 Regency Circle.
The conference will include two tracks – one designed for health care providers and the other for patients, families and caregivers. Nebraska has the fourth highest incidence of Parkinson’s disease among U.S. states.
The roles/benefits of speech, physical and occupational therapies; pain control, and dystonia will be among the topics covered.
Registration cost is $20 per person for patients, family and caregivers. The fee is $100 for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants; $55 for other health care professionals; and $35 for medical residents and health professions’ students registering by Sept. 24 with the cost increasing $20 for each group after that.
Conference sponsors are Creighton University’s School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine and the Continuing Medical Education Division, in conjunction with the American Parkinson Disease Association and Creighton University Medical Center.
