Creighton Professor Holds Book Signing for Book on Marx

Amy Wendling, Ph.D., Creighton University assistant professor of philosophy, will sign copies of her new book, “Karl Marx on Technology and Alienation,” from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Creighton University Bookstore, located in the Mike & Josie Harper Center.

In her book, Wendling offers a new interpretation of German philosopher Karl Marx’s concept of alienation. She draws on lesser known archival materials, including Marx’s notebooks on technology and on women’s lives.

Bill Martin, author and professor at DePaul University, writes: “Wendling's project is an important one, and it is developed very well, in very interesting ways, and it will attract anyone who is interested in Marx's philosophy, philosophy of technology, and/or the critique of capitalism.”

Refreshments will be served at the book signing.
