Sen. Nelson Recognized by Creighton Pharmacy Honor Society
Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson has been awarded the 2010 Distinguished Lecture Award by the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Rho Chi, the academic honor society for Creighton University pharmacy students.
Each year, the honor society seeks to recognize a nationally known individual who can speak on a contemporary topic important to the advancement of the public health and the pharmacy profession.
Nelson has been a pivotal figure in health care reform currently under consideration by Congress. He received the award during a Feb. 26 event on the University’s campus, where he spoke on “Health Care Reform: Perspectives from the Hill.”
