Creighton Tornado Preparedness Drill Set for March 24

Creighton University will hold its annual campus-wide tornado drill and testing of its emergency notification system (CUAlert) on Wednesday, March 24, at 10:10 a.m. in conjunction with Douglas County. The county will sound sirens across the city and a test CUAlert will be issued to communicate a tornado warning situation. Students, faculty and staff will take appropriate action, including going to the nearest shelter area.

Campus community members have received information on what to do if a tornado occurs and additional resources are available at the University’s emergency preparedness website.

The entire exercise is intended to last about 10 minutes. The hospital, medical and dental clinics will not participate in the test as they already have their own emergency drills in place.
