Law Professor's Article Earns Lieber Military Prize
Creighton University Law Professor Sean Watts will be honored for his recent article, “Combatant Status and Computer Network Attacks” on Friday, March 26 at the American Society of International Law’s annual conference in Washington D.C.
Watts, whose article was published in the Virginia Journal of International Law, was chosen for the American Society of International Law’s Lieber Military Prize.
The American Society of International Law’s committee, which received numerous submissions from military around the world, said Watts’ article was one of the most noteworthy because it addresses the law of war issues in "the most thoughtful and informative way."
Watts’ article has resulted in numerous offers to present around the world in the coming year including presentations in Tallin, Estonia; Durham, England; and Brussels, Belgium, which are all part of a workshop to develop a Law of Armed Conflict Handbook on cyber warfare.
