Creighton Spreads Christmas Cheer with Choral Concert

Creighton University’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present “Creighton’s Classical Christmas” featuring the Creighton Chamber Choir and University Chorus at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5 in St. John’s Church on the Creighton campus.

The performance will consist of two parts. The Chamber Choir will perform an all a cappella program with the music of Poulenc, Pärt, Victoria, et al. under the direction of music professor A. Barron Breland. Then, the University Chorus and Orchestra will perform Conrad Susa's "A Christmas Garland” under the guidance of conductor and musical director Stephen Sheftz.

Instead of charging admission for the concert, attendees are asked to bring donations of canned goods to benefit the Siena-Francis House.

The performance is funded, in part, by the generous support of the Richard and Mary McCormick Endowment Fund for the Fine and Performing Arts, the Grace Keenan Fund and another anonymous source.
