Prospective Students Surprised with Admissions Letters

A new twist was included in the Nov. 15 Creighton University “Jay Days”, a day-long campus visit of 70 prospective students and their families. Nine students were surprised with letters of admission while family and other interested students looked on.

This was the first time that Creighton Undergraduate Admissions had ever announced admission decisions in such a forum. Family members were not aware of the decisions and were just as surprised as their students opened their official admission letters.

Building on this concept, Undergraduate Admissions will be informing other prospective students of their admission decisions through an exciting initiative called “Capture the Moment.”

Family members are contacted first about the admission decisions and are encouraged to ready their cameras to “capture the moment” as their students open their admission letters at home. Families are then encouraged to send in those moments to be posted on the Undergraduate Admission website.
